	TML was originally established in 1985 by Gulam Seedat with the dream of building the best cargo and container facility in Malawi. TML joined forces with MC Savjani (name of both company and owner) to establish, in 1988, one larger company called GMS Freight Limited. In this way, with pooled resources, a cargo handling facility was built at Chirimba to handle warehousing and container parking for the freight forwarding services. The convenient location and personalized service quickly made GMS a success. In 2000, a reorganisation of the company was done, resulting in a holding company with one subsidiary, GMS Container Terminals Limited. In a 'back to basics' move, the freight forwarding business was split into TML and MCS Freight Ltd (formerly MC Savjani), just as at the beginning. The container depot is now a separate business, GMS Container Terminals Limited. This move allows other shippers and freight forwarders to use the container depot services, resulting in better utilization of the investment and more business.
